Sharon F. Schwarz
Sharon F. Schwarz (nee Meyer) passed away peacefully at her home on March 9, 2023, at the age of 85. She was born in St. Louis, MO, on June 30, 1937.
Sharon is preceded by her husband, Harold W. Schwarz and her son, Gary G. Schwarz.
She is survived by her daughter, Shirley L. Corbett (Steven M. Corbett); two grandsons David M. Corbett and Jonathan G. (Holly) Corbett; four great grandchildren, Spencer, Mars, Lucy, and Leo.
Sharon graduated from Gallaudet School for the Deaf. After her marriage to Bill, 1957 she was as a homemaker when her children were small, and later entered the workforce after her children had grown. She formerly worked at ALMSA Automation Logistics Management System Agency with department of the U.S. Army as operations management since 1971. During her employment she was involved in several different organizations for the Deaf. She served as a Treasurer with the Auxiliary Fraternal Insurance for the deaf. She was member of the National Association of the Deaf and served as a Vice president with the Missouri Association of the Deaf. She advocated for young women leadership with Miss Deaf Missouri Pageant. She was also involved with Midwest Athletic Association of the Deaf, played softball with the St. Louis Bell club. She was a long time member of the Silent Club later called the Greater St. Louis Association of the Deaf and the Gateway Silent Seniors.
Sharon had many interests and hobbies. She was a former member of the Holy Cross Lutheran church and joined the Catholic Deaf Society through RCIA 2019 in St. Louis. Sharon also volunteered for the Old NewsBoys of St. Louis Post, the charity newspaper. She loved to perform in theater at Community College at Florissant Valley theater for the Deaf. She also acted as a performance clown for Non-for profit organizations.
Sharon loved to make people smile.
Sharon was a great friend to many and she will be missed.

I love Sharon as very sweet lady and also she is my good comforting listener. I enjoyed chatting on VP with her occassionally. We used to go to Holy Cross Lutheran for the Deaf when we lived in St. Charles long time ago. Aaron often talked with her husband Billy too. I miss her. I am glad that she is home in beautiful heaven.
Sure will Sharon, we work together at Almsa … she got me interested in ASL … we travel to traveled to Washington DC for disabled program … she was a beautiful person … I enjoyed talking to her and laughing… Shirley you and family are in our prayers… Love Rita Moore …

I really enjoyed working with Sharon for many years ALMSA. We had a lots of fun laughing and her jokes she would tell keep you laughing all day long. Rest in peace Sharon.
My condolences go to Schwarz family as Sharon leaves to her Heavenly Home. May you find comfort in the memories that are yours to cherish always and strength in the companionship of those who share your loss. God has Sharon in His keeping. How we had made acquaintance way back as I joined in the St. Louis Division #147 National Fraternal Society/Deaf (life insurance) in 1972. Then we got connected with St. Louis Bell Club social and women softball & volleyball teams. Sharon is missed all. Bill, Sharon, Shirl and Gary are in my thoughts.

A personal message to Shirley Corbett – I am truly sorry for the loss of your mom. and I was glad to have seen and visited with her a few times in the past while she was in the hospital. Your mom was indeed a brave woman through her suffering. And you have been PATIENT
and WONDERFUL with her during her long illness. I will always remember your mom and her cheerful attitude toward all of us. I am sorry I cannot make it today to your mom’s visitation and funeral as I am still on the mend after three weeks. But I WILL be with you and your family in spirit and prayer!
