Susan Mary Neville

Susan Mary Neville, 85, passed away on April 10, 2023, in her home at Bethesda
Orchard Retirement Community of Webster Groves, Missouri, surrounded by her
loving family.

Sue was born on April 25, 1937, to Victor and Virginia (nee Moran) Rosskopf in
St. Louis, Missouri. She graduated salutatorian of her high school class at St
Elizabeth’s Academy and chose a career in nursing. She graduated from St
John’s School of Nursing in 1958 and remained in touch with her classmates
throughout her life. She took a break from nursing to raise her four children and
returned to work after her youngest started school. After her divorce, she worked
full time, providing her children with a role model of strength and resiliency. She
worked as a substance abuse nurse at several facilities during her long career,
including the DePaul Hospital Care Unit.

Sue met the love of her life, Robert (Bob) Neville, in 1985 at their daughters’
graduation banquet. The girls arranged for them to sit together to prevent them
from being alone during the ceremony. What started as a simple seating
arrangement blossomed into a whirlwind love affair, and they married on March
15, 1986. Between Sue’s four children and Bob’s six children, they became a
large and loving blended family.

Sue inherited her mother’s love of travel. She and Bob enjoyed trips all over the
United States, Mexico, Canada, and Europe. As soon as they returned home
from one trip, Sue was planning the next. Their home was full of pictures and
beautiful artwork collected during their travels.

Sue’s faith in God was unwavering. She was an advocate for social justice and
prioritized her spiritual growth through classes and retreats. She and Bob were
members of Therese of Divine Peace, a small Roman Catholic congregation in
St. Louis.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Virginia Rosskopf, her
brothers David and Victor Rosskopf, stepson Robert J. Neville, and step
granddaughter Rebecca Neville. She is survived by her husband Bob, children
