Luis Raul Trabanco

October 10th, 1959 – April 19th, 2023

Luis Raul Trabanco, born on the 10th day of October 1959 in Holguín, Cuba, joined his loving parents in God’s love on April 19, 2023.

Luis was a beloved son of Julio C. Trabanco Sr. and Maria C. Trabanco. He is survived by brothers, Julio “Indigo” and Rafael Sr. (Luz “Delia”). Loving uncle to Maribel, Gabriel (Kim, daughter – London), Rafael Jr. (Heather), Amaryllis (Joshua, daughter – Iliana), and Alejandra. Beloved cousin, granduncle, godfather, and friend to many.

Luis was an active member in his local community and appreciator of the arts. The most friendly and hospitable person to those who would see him at the family business, Tropicana Market Inc. “La Tropicana”, in South St. Louis.

Luis’ love and appreciation for his Cuban roots and the lively, Hispanic community were both strong and proud. His loud, contagious laugh and high-spirited personality will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

Memorial Service: May 26, 2023 – 10:00 AM at Chapel Hill Kirkwood.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to either the Alzheimer’s Association or the National Kidney Foundation.

My most sincere condolences to the family of Luis. He was a dear friend of Art Saint Louis for many years and served on our Board of Directors and Advisory Council. Throughout the mid-1990s and early 2000s, he helped with our special events and supported our nonprofit organization. May his memory be a blessing.

    Gone way too soon, Luisito,
I’m going to miss seeing the smile and twinkling eyes when I am out and about.
My most sincere condolences to the family. Even as just a friend, Luis was always at the ready and willing to lend a hand. Què en paz descanse.
