Kay Lamken (Kyong Sun nee(Yi))

Kay passed away in her sleep at Hillcrest Care Center at 4:15 a.m. on June 25, 2023. 

Survived by her her sons: Christian L. Lamken (De Soto), Joshua A. Lamken (Winterville, GA), Grandmother  to: Dylan Thebeau, Tristan Thebeau, Christian J. (CJ) Lamken, Gage Lamken, and Gracie Lamken. Brothers Yi  Chung Jeung, Yi Taek Jeung (Seoul, South Korea) .

Kay was preceded in death by the love of her life, William  (Bill) F. Lamken 03/2000. 

Kay was a loving friend to many, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, sister-in-law.  

Kay worked as a kitchen worker at Sunrise R-IX School, homemaker, and Christian Woman. 

Kay was very generous, kind, caring, and a stellar example of how all humans should be. One of Kay’s proudest  accomplishments was becoming a United States Citizen in the 1980’s. She had overcome many obstacles in life  including escaping Communist North Korea in Pyongyang with her brothers during the Korean War after  Japanese Rule. 

Kay’s favorite advice to anyone was to be kind and pleasant to all she met. Kay loved her flowers and helping  anyone in general. Kay always had a smile to brighten your day.

We all love and miss her greatly.

    Rose Mary & Sandy Sandmeier. So sorry for your loss. We remember Kay as a very kind hearted woman who loved helping others.     I’m so sorry for your loss. Kay was beautiful inside and out. She could always make people smile. I loved her 4th of July rice Krispy treats and the watermelon basket she used to make. My kids loved her. She is in heaven now. No more pain. Walking those streets of gold.
