Mr. Robert Stephen Hayes was born March 16, in St. Louis, Missouri to the union of John D. Hayes and Ruby M. Hayes, who both preceded him in death. He was educated in the St. Louis Public School System. Two of his sisters, Karen Hayes and Johnetta Cook, and three brothers, David Hayes, Johnny Hayes, and Michael Hayes all preceded him in death.

Robert had a passion for cooking and music. He played drums and bass guitar for church and family events.

Robert accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior and was filled with the Holy Spirit. He was united in Holy Matrimony to Robin Meriweather-Hayes on June 22, 2016.

Robert succumbed to a brief illness on July 3, 2023, at his home surrounded by family. Robert leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife, Robin Hayes, sisters Marcia Curry, Corliss Corothers and Toni Lee; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, bonus children and grandchildren, family and friends.
