Rosemary Cherry

In Loving Memory of Rosemary Coach "Jerry" Cherry

January 1, 1960- November 20, 2009

Rosemary “Jerry” Cherry was born on January 1, 1960 to Emma Lee Chandler and Mark Author Coach in Kansas City, Kansas. She was the oldest of three children born to Emma. Her siblings are Brian ,Keith, Chandler, and Gail Jones. Because of Jerry’s many accomplishments she was rewarded many certificates and awards throughout her life. At the age of 14,  Rosemary was baptized in Springfield, MO. She was one of Jehovah Witnesses for 35 years. Standing by her beliefs and preaching the word and praying is what kept her going each day. She went on to graduate from Northwest High School and finished a year at Forest Park College. However, she didn’t stop there. Jerry excelled in bank telling school, Ruesing University of Beauty and dental assistant school. While there receiving an abundant amount of achievement awards for her dedication and hard work. Later on, Jerry was blessed with three loving children that she surrendered her whole life to. James Cherry, Rachael Cherry, and Josiah Cherry. Along with her three kids, my mother shared precious moments with her four nephews: Russell Alexander Carter, Myles Nigel Cody, Keith Alexander Jones, Tyler Chandler, and great nephew Jaylen Richard Carter. On February 12, 2009 at 12:06 p.m. Jerry was able to witness the birth of her first Grandson, Jordan. This was a moment that she was proud of and bragged to everyone about her first grandbaby. Although he only spent a short 9 months with his grandmother, DJ felt her genuine love, and I will still make sure he knows how much she loved him and continued to talk about his granny daily. Rosemary loved everyone; her family, friends, and neighbors knew how much she cared about them. When giving advice, she never was harsh when sharing her opinion. This made her a great mother, friend, sister, and family member. There was nothing she wouldn’t do. We all know that she is a one of kind and will be missed dearly. However, she will never be forgotten!! One day I know I will get a chance to see my mother again… I am willing to do whatever it takes to share another laugh, see her joyful face, feel her loving touch, and be in her warm arms… Because of her strong faith in God until the end leaves me to believe that she WILL be resurrected in God’s new kingdom– Where there will no longer be sickness or death. Overall, a better place to be. To my mother –we all love you and appreciate all the things you’ve ever done…. You are the reason why I’m so strong, you fought to the end and did us proud. So, it’s not a good bye, it’s a see you later.
