Dolores H. Bieger
Dolores H. Bieger (nee Vogel), 92, of O’Fallon, Missouri, died peacefully in her home on June 20, 2023.
Dolores was born on April 18, 1931. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles M. Bieger, and was the beloved daughter of Alfons and Pearl Vogel.
Dolores and Charles were together for 68 interesting years. After leaving office work, she became involved as an active volunteer in civic projects. Dolores served for eight years as Chair of the 100 Neediest Cases promoted by the St. Louis Post Dispatch. She was president of the St. Louis County League of Women Voters and was a reading tutor for adults for Laubach Literacy Council. She also tutored children through Oasis. Dolores was a freelance writer and had articles published in the TWA Ambassador and St. Louis Magazine, among others.
Dolores was a voracious reader and was very proud of her award as Super Reader presented to her by the St. Charles County Library, which was placed on her front lawn.
Dolores and Charles shared many travel adventures, such as flying outside of a helicopter over the St. Lawrence Sea Way, and on safari in Kenya. She and Charles loved to travel and had the opportunity to travel through Europe and Africa extensively. In addition to travel, their interests were shared in food, art, theatre, literature, and animals.
At her request, her body will be cremated and there will be no services. Any donations would be gratefully accepted by the Humane Farming Association, hfa.org, or the Animal Legal Defense Fund, aldef.org.
