Margaret Juergens
Margaret Ann Juergens (nee Mitchell), 84, of Union, MO, passed away Friday, June 16, 2023 surrounded by her family.
Margaret was born July 6, 1938 in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of the late Henry and Cecelia (Burrell) Mitchell. On November 18, 1961, she married, Raymond John Juergens Jr. They met while employed at McDonnell Douglas and shared over 60 years together. The couple built their first home in Florissant, and then the second home in Wildwood, where they continued to raise their family for over 45 years.
Margaret attended Ritenour and Augusta High School, graduating from Augusta in 1956. Margaret was a was a homemaker, splendid baker, enjoyed reading, watching classic and mystery movies, crocheting and painting with oils and watercolors. She was an accomplished bowler and earned several trophies and recognition.
Margaret is survived by her two sons, Louis (Sharon) Juergens of Landrum, SC and Tom (Bettye) Juergens of Dittmer, MO; two daughters, Anne Juergens (Jim Ritter) of Cincinnati, OH and Beth Juergens (Jon Wood) of Washington, MO; four grandchildren, Ben Juergens (Largo Haight), Maggie (Patrick) Deal, Rachel Juergens (Matt Shea), Josh (Daysha) Juergens; three great-grandchildren, Cooper and Cameron Deal and Adelaide Juergens.
In addition, she is survived by two brothers, Jim (Glenora) Mitchell, Don Mitchell and one sister, Virginia Barklage; one sister-in-law, Audrey Juergens and many other extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond John Juergens, Jr; three sisters, Cecelia Joan Mitchell, Patricia Naughton and Doris Morton; two brothers Richard Mitchell Sr, and Larry Mitchell.
The family is grateful for the care provided by the staff at Victorian Place of Union, MO and Three Oaks Hospice care. A private celebration of life will be held in the fall, with final burial at Calvary Cemetery in St. Louis.
She was pleasure to be around and had a great sense of humor. Beautiful lady. She will be missed. Also made wonderful Mac & cheese.
