Donald Missey
Donald Nicholas Missey, 88, fortified with the Sacraments of the Holy Mother Church passed away peacefully on August 30, 2023 after battling Alzheimer’s for over a decade. Beloved husband of Juanita (Sigillito) for 62 years, father of Karen Farron (Neal), Paula McCann (Curt), Dan Missey (Lori), and Sean Missey (Ning). Grandfather (Papa) of Madeline Farron Wiley (Seth), Connor and Luke Farron; Emily and Nicholas McCann; Jessica and Owen Missey; and Patrick and Lydia Missey.
Don is survived by his brothers: Collyn and his twin, Dale Missey. He is preceded in death by his parents Frank J. and Mary B. Missey, his brother Ken and wife Marilyn Missey, his sister Joan and husband Bill Germer; sisters-in-law Shirley Missey (Dale), Helga Missey (Collyn), and nephews Scott and Dana Missey.
Don was also an uncle, great uncle, great great uncle, cousin and friend to many. He was a Roosevelt High School grad (‘53) and served in the US Navy Seabee Reserves for eight years. He was an electrician and a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for 69 years.
Don met Juanita Sigillito at the St. Louis Cathedral Club and married on May 27, 1961 and had 4 children. He was a volunteer at St Louis Lambert Airport USO and at Ascension Church helping to provide meals for families after funerals. Don also volunteered at the St. Nicholas Food Pantry. He was always active in water sports and an expert water skier and swimmer. He enjoyed sailing and was a member of the Carlyle Sailing Association. He loved to dance and many at Mason Pointe referred to him as “The Dancer.”Don loved gardening and was proud of his hostas and a large variety of colorful flowers.
A memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, September 16th at 10:00 AM, visitation from 9:00-10:00 at the Mason Pointe Chapel, 13190 S. Outer 40 Rd. Town and Country, MO 63017

Thank you for the good times in Hillsboro. Don was always lots of fun. I especially remember the potato gun, the golf game and the wonderful swimming pool. Nita was a wonderful wife and caregiver to Don. God bless them and their family.
