Phillip E. Horton
Phillip E Horton obituary Jan 21, 1933 – Sep 26, 2023, aged 90
Phillip Edmond Horton was born in Oklahoma on January 21, 1933 to Eldon Lloyd Horton and Jessie Horton (Thomson). One of twelve children, he was unable to complete his education, as he was needed on the farm.
He departed the physical plane on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at Jefferson Barracks Veterans Medical Center.
Phillip was an army medic from May 1953 to May 1955. He was stationed in Alaska. He returned to Wichita Falls, Texas where he enjoyed working outdoors in close proximity to his parents and many siblings. He attended Draughon’s business school where he obtained his GED. He married and had two children.
In 1965, Phillip and family moved to North Little Rock, Arkansas. He was employed by Interstate Highway Sign Company as a material manager until his retirement.
In 2013, he moved to Cedar Hill, Missouri to live near his son.
Phillip is survived by his son, William Lloyd Horton of Cedar Hill, Missouri, his daughter, Linda Taylor (Robert) of Harrison, Arkansas, his first wife, Laura Beard Norman, two brothers, Glenn Horton of Monahans, Texas and Wayne Horton of Wichita Falls, Texas and three grandchildren.
Phillip developed a strong faith. It was his anchor and he never wavered from his beliefs.
Wisdom 3:1-3 The souls of the just are in the hand of God, and no torment shall touch them. They seemed, in the view of the foolish, to be dead and their passing away was thought an affliction and their going forth from us, utter destruction. But they are in peace.
