She has been truly blessed with grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren

She worked as a Domestics and also volunteered for the American Red Cross Blood Drive for many years. She was always available for something as simple as a hug or something more supplementary.

Rest sweet woman, you will always be in our memories.

It didn’t take much to make her happy—a phone call, a card, a visit, or a hug and kiss before saying goodbye. So nice and sweet. Kind and loving. Grandma Annette loved her children and grandchildren dearly. Even children of no relation were drawn to her. She lived to make our lives better and was proud of us, no matter what. It is the little things that I’ll remember. Her rolled up Kleenexes and peppermint’s. Her natural scent with a slight hint of baby powder. Her dainty jewelry. Beautiful, peppered, silver hair. Her infectious laugh. Her powerful sneezes. She had a playful way to get you to smile and giggle no matter what your mood was. I can see her now, sitting in her rocking chair reading her Harlequin novels or working her puzzle books. When Grandma Annette disciplined you, you knew it was done out of love. She didn’t stay mad for long. She was a soul and blues lover. Ray Charles, The Temptations, B.B. King just to name a few. When their music came on, she was in her zone. Singing out loud, head bobbing, leg slapping and foot tapping. She was a caring individual that volunteered her time at blood drives in Clayton and she also volunteered at Pine Lawn clinic. I’m sure the people that gave blood or checked in for their appointments, would remember that nice, fair skinned lady at the desk. The kind of love Grandma felt for us was a love without condition. She may not have approved of everything we did, may not have liked some of the decisions we made, but she didn’t lecture, she didn’t judge. She just kept loving us, letting us know that she was there and if we ever needed her, we could count on her to listen, to comfort, to help. She would give all that she had if you asked her. I’m sure everyone here has memories much like mine. They are good memories, something we’ll always have to cherish. Whenever she stepped out of the house, “Hi Ms. Jackson. How are you Ms. Jackson?” She would reply “Hey sweetheart. I can’t complain”. Even though she had five biological children, I don’t know how many adopted her, to give her the endearment mom or grandma. It isn’t often in our lives that we come across someone so special that, that person stays with you forever. Grandma was that kind of person. Long live Mrs. Jennie Annette Jackson. Never forget.
