Steven Raymond Ambrus

On October 10, 2023 Steven Raymond Ambrus, 68, of Troy, Missouri, passed away at SSM LSL Hospital with his beloved wife Pamela Ledford Ambrus and close family friends at his side. Early that afternoon Steve was called to Heaven by our Lord God.

Steve was the middle of two brothers growing up in Barberton, Ohio. He graduated from Barberton High School Class of 73. After graduation he went to work for Goodyear Chemical Company. Later graduating from the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Class of 88, with an Associate’s Degree in Industrial Electronics Technology. He began his career with Gencorp Polymer Products as an Electronics/Instrument Technician, later joining Wegoma Inc. as a Field Service Engineer.

Steve and his future wife Pam met in October 1990 at a Spiritual Retreat.  They fell in love and as they called it ‘It was a God thing’

On July 25, 2023, Steve celebrated his 39th year of sobriety.

Steve and Pamela were married April 13, 1996, in North Canton, Ohio. They later moved out of state, currently residing in the home they built together in Troy MO.  Steve and Pam enjoyed vacationing in Miramar Beach, Florida where they met close friends.

Steve was a Harley Man, he rode for many years where he met many of his closest friends. Steve also enjoyed fishing, and Music he had an extensive collection  aka ‘Music Man’. Steve was a real ‘Techie’, he was up on the latest on computers, phones, tv’s, etc. The entire family depended on him as their personal I.T. guy. 

Steve will be remembered for all the heart he shared with his family and friends. He truly loved each of them, if you knew him you knew it. Steve suffered from many serious health issues, and survived, he never complained. We lovingly called him our ‘Miracle Man’.

Steve is survived by his wife Pamela Ledford Ambrus; brothers Edward, and wife Sherry Ambrus, and Michael Ambrus; cousins Terry and Gary Obradovich; niece’s Christine Breitenstine, Danielle Ambrus, Kierstan Deis, Calee Issacs; nephews Shawn Ambrus, Eric Ambrus, Jake Isaacs; Mother-In-Law Betty Elliott  Ledford; Sister-In-Law Susan Ledford Isaacs  and husband Randal Isaacs; Brother-In Laws Steve Ledford, Michael Ledford; Thirteen Great Niece’s and Nephews; Four Great-Great Niece’s and Nephews.

Preceded in death by Father Edward Ambrus; Mother Marjorie Madigan Ambrus, Grandfather’s Steven Ambrus, Raymond Madigan; Grandmother’s Rose Ambrus, Elaine Madigan; Father-In-Law Harold Ledford; Nephew Preston Ledford.

 

Steve’s remains have been cremated, a Celebration of Life Reception is being planned and further details will be shared soon.
