Ralph D. Niffenegger
Ralph D. Niffenegger, known to friends as “Niff,” passed away peacefully on November 30, 2023 at 87 years old. He was born September 24, 1936 in Browntown, Wisconsin and grew up a lifelong St. Louis Cardinals baseball and Greenbay Packers football fan. After graduating high school, he joined the Air Force. He met Debie on a blind date while he was stationed in Texas and she was a student at Texas Tech University. They were married in 1960 and celebrated 63 years together before she passed away earlier this year. They adored their three children: Renee (Tom) Montgomery, Jon Niffenegger and Regal (David) Green. In addition, they were blessed with 6 grandchildren: Michael Montgomery, Emily Montgomery, Nicole Niffenegger, William Green, Theodore Green and Mary Catherine Green. They also celebrated the birth of 5 great-grandchildren: Liam, Mason, Ella, Rhett and Emma.
Ralph had a long career at Emerson Electric as a marketing manager. In 1985, he left Emerson and owned Embassy Architectural Woodworking in Crestwood, MO and successfully ran it over 20 years. He had an incredible work ethic and took great care of his employees and clients.
He was a member of St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Parish in Ellisville, MO for 47 years and enjoyed going to daily mass at the Passionist Nun’s Chapel.
Besides woodworking, Ralph enjoyed model trains and took pride in his collection of HO trains and building the massive track with his son, Jon.
He had a close circle of friends and always laughed at a good joke. Most of all he loved his family. There will be a private military ceremony at Jefferson Barracks later this week.
