Michael Thomas Murphy

Michael Thomas Murphy
January 18,1956-December 29,2023Mike was the oldest of 5.  He was very close to his brothers and sister.  Mike passed peacefully at his brother’s home surrounded by family on December 29, 2023.  He fought so hard until the very end.  He made it known he was ready to get to Heaven.  He had a lot of people to see; especially his sister in law, and best friend, Christine Murphy.
Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas J. Murphy and Patricia A. Murphy.  He has two surviving children Ryan (Kristen) Murphy and Kara Murphy.  Brother of Timothy (Kelly) Murphy, Daniel (the late Christine) Murphy, sister Peggy (Tom) Wollberg , and youngest brother  Patrick Murphy.  He also has many nieces, great nieces and nephews.  He was a loving grandfather to his beautiful grandson Jack who he was so proud to get to meet.  Every time  he was around Jack he said his smile lit up the entire room.  That red hair made him smile right when he came through the door.  Mike absolutely loved to have a good time.  He was known as the life of the party by all who knew him.  He loved to Golf, and play any sport that was in front of him.  He loved to go boating on the lake of the Ozarks.
He worked in HVAC for many years before retirement and helped many people out even after.  Mike adored his family and friends and will be missed by everyone.  Rest in Paradise until we meet again.

The Murphy family will be holding a celebration of life for Mike on Friday, January 5th, from 5pm-10pm at the Lake St. Louis Community Association Clubhouse, located at 100 Cognac Ct., Lake St. Louis, MO 63367

All who knew Mike are welcome to come celebrate his beautiful life. If you wish to make a charitable donation in Mike’s name, please direct funds to the American Cancer Society.

UNC- you were simply the best. Not only to me but to my children. You were always there to help. I will miss you every day but I’m so thankful you will no longer be suffering or have any pain. Boy did we have some fun times together. You will always be known as the most fun and crazy uncle! Squeeze my mom and Save a place for me. 😇
