Just late summer of 2023 I met Mary and quite quickly I found a great friendship with Mary. Kind, savvy , strong , never a pity party and a humor never will I forget. While I miss you Mary I’m more at peace knowing you are no longer in any kind of un comfort. Thank you for having Frankie reach out to our group when you had quickly gone to hospice. Much love to your family, those dear to you -like them I forever have you in my ❤️.

Mary was welcoming and a wonderful teacher when I first arrived in the lab next door to her at Wash U. I still use her work ethic as a teaching example in labs. She has been missed since she retired from Wash U. Sending my best to her friends and family.

OH Gracious! Mary and I go back to college days! I was just thinking of calling her for a MOBOT excursion. Where to start? Our lives overlapped in almost all areas. Such a wonder-filled, prayerful person! A confidant, a classmate, an adventurer. Many were the days we shared heartaches and triumphs as female biologists working in a male dominated field. May God continue to bless you and keep you until we meet again in Lupine fields! Enjoy your new adventure – you earned it! Go in Peace, Mary!

Mary’s siblings and other family members, Heaven gained a strong helper on your behalf’s, remember her as she continues to look out for you.

I’m deeply saddened by this news. Mary, who was not only a colleague but a dear friend, shared over 10 years of her dedication and expertise in our lab. Her memory will always be cherished and remembered.

My heartfelt condolences to all the Foy family including her many nieces and nephews. We shared some wonderful times especially seeing the northern lights in North Dakota, a visit to the Peace Museum on the border of N. Dakota and Canada, and singing together in St. Mark’s choir. She was an inspirational woman with a great sense of humor and laugh. She was a beloved member of St. Mark’s and will be greatly missed.
