Maureen Elmira (Saunders) Bullock, passed away on January 15, 2024 at home following a brief hospitalization.
Born June 12, 1946 in Baltimore, Maryland. Daughter of Maurice George Saunders and Elmira Elizabeth Marcum. Maureen married Howard Richard Bullock on December 16, 1968. They had 6 Children. She is preceded in death by her parents, her former husband Howard, and her brother Kyle Saunders.

Maureen was known for her fight for the underdog; she always extended help to those who were in dire need. She loved to talk to people to learn their story and was known to open her home to strangers. She was creative and had lots of hobbies, including sewing, crocheting, gardening, cake decorating, flower arranging, and crafting – she could make anything! She often would share her talents with others. She loved the colors of nature, especially beautiful flowers.
She loved to cook and was known for her Thanksgiving pies, potato soup, and crawfish étoufée. Aside from her children and grandchildren, one of her proudest accomplishments was going back to school later in life and achieving both her Bachelor’s (Psychology) and Master’s (Counseling) degrees. One of her frequently used sayings was “The way you are at home, is the way you are.”

To the family of Maureen Bullock……So sorry to hear of your mother’s passing. Many years have gone by since seeing her. .Rona, my daughter, Jacob , her son…each send love and prayers ….. Grant passed away 11 years ago….
My deepest sympathies to Maureen’s family. I admired Maureen and her pioneer spirit. It was probably 30 to 40 yrs.ago when, as a single mom, Maureen was given the opportunity to go to school to become a commercial big rig driver and she jumped at the chance to provide for her children. It was so brave of her to take on a career dominated by men.
