Jennifer Ann Spencer

Jennifer Ann Spencer died on the evening of Tuesday, January 16th, 2024, after a long and difficult battle with cancer.

Jennifer was born in Albany, New York, in September of 1974. She moved to St. Louis in the summer of 1995 with her loving best friend and very cool husband, William Spencer. What was supposed to be a six month layover in St. Louis became a permanent home where they built their lives together.

She loved her friends and her kittens more than words can say. She was kind and caring, smart and witty and an incredibly gentle woman who never hesitated to help a person in need. She was an avid photographer, and collected rocks, fossils and oddities while she traveled the world.

She donated her time and resources to multiple humanitarian organizations. Jennifer was a wonderful and loving woman who will be forever missed.
Jennifer was 49 years old when she finally moved on.

She is survived by her husband, William Pierce Spencer, her mother, Colleen Vandal, and her sister,Natalie Amber Vandal, and a troupe of sweet kittens.

The most fitting memorial in her honor can be made by setting aside a day to spend with someone you love and doing something fun, without worry or concern about ephemeral things. Just be.

A celebration of Jennifer’s life will take place at a future date to be determined and also whenever you think of her impact on all of us.

All the love in the world to that sweet wonderful woman and to the people she left behind. Thank you Jenn for being a kind friend, an exemplary human and a loving soul. Both animal and humankind alike were fortunate to have you in their lives. May you reign as the Goth Queen of all the kitties in all the worlds you inhabit. Love you always, Maury

Jen I had such a beautiful soul. I remember going to the same concerts, hanging out with the same friends, going to the same bars. She was such a lovely lady. The color purple will definitely not be the same and either will this world without her. My condolences to her family and friends. Rest in peace sweetheart 💜💜

Dear William, you don’t know me, but I remember when Jenny was born❤️ Her mother’s family and my family were very close. She was a flower girl in my sister’s wedding back in 1980. I will see if my sister has some photos. I found out a few months ago that Jen was ill and began praying so hard for her. I am so very sorry for your loss…
