Gary Marshall Truchon
Gary Marshall Truchon passed away on January 19, 2024 in St Louis, MO at the Barnes Hospital at the age of 71. He was born to Marshall and Patricia Truchon in Dallas, TX on November 9, 1952 while his father was serving in the US Airforce.
His family moved to Kansas City, MO where Gary started school and then we moved to Omaha, NE when he was age 11. He was a graduate of Harry A. Burke, Omaha, NE class of 1971.
He moved to Joplin, MO in 1983. Gary was an entrepreneur, starting his own business, detailing cars which he maintained until his passing. He was an avid bowler winning many tournaments in his teenage years. He played the trumpet in the marching band and was a talented guitarist.
Gary was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witness on March 24, 1974 and continued to be a faithful witness until his death.
Gary’s siblings, Pamela (husband Mike) Mazzocco, Kathy (husband Rick) Levine and Denise (husband Steve) Cox remember him as a gentle and caring man. Uncle Gary was adored by his nephews and nieces. His hearty laugh and generous spirit extended well beyond his family. Gary was well-known in the Joplin West congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses for his volunteer work and efforts in sharing the word of God.
Predeceased by his father, Marshall Truchon, his mother Patricia Truchon and younger brother James Andrew Truchon.

Gary’s presence will be profoundly missed, but his memory will continue to be a beacon of warmth and joy for all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
So sorry for your family, a few weeks ago Gary was here visiting Rick and me at our house with Richard Delgado and Andy Patino. It’s a great loss for our congregation also. We’re anxious to see him again soon as is Jehovah, the resurrection is our great hope for the future!
Gary Marshall Truchon was a great friend and brother of mine since early 1974! He was one of the first four of Jehovah’s Witnesses that I ever met, even before I myself was baptised. Back in those early days, we soon became room-mates and fast friends! There are a few things in this wonderfully written obit that I never knew, i.e. that Gary was a Champion Bowler in his teen years. Gary was one of the kindest and mildest human beings that I ever had the pleasure to know! He was a living example of “the meek that shall inherit the earth.” I did know that he was a talented guitarist; as he played the guitar onstage at a Circuit Assembly when he and I were in our mid-20’s as we sang together with several other younger youth.
Even though Gary and I lost contact for many decades after he moved with his family back to Joplin and I moved to Lincoln and then got married; we re-connected as adults about 12-15 years ago when Gary phoned me and wanted to come to Omaha and have me take him to a Cornhusker football game. During the 3 days he spent with me, he insisted that we eat @ Runza four times; LOL! He had not been to Lincoln’s Memorial Stadium since 1974 with his dear father. A few years ago, I contemplated who my best male frIends ever were, and organized them into my All-Star team of 9 guys. Gary was (and still is) my 2nd Baseman! I eagerly look forward to being with dear Gary again in God’s new World. Agape and Philia Love and deepest sympathies to beloved Pam, sweet Denise, and his entire family.
P.S. When I see him again, I shall ask Gary to teach me how to bowl, as I have always been terrible at this sport!
Michael Edwin and Lenore Vesta Triba in Omaha
I met Gary as well as all of the Truchon family in 1974. I remember how quickly I was drawn to their family. Gary was as Mike Triba well put it ” a meek & mild” soul who was always kind & soft spoken. I was especially close to Gary’s sisters and since they lived very close to my house I was always at their house. Being surrounded by all of us women, Gary would sometimes shake his head and walk away from all the noise of it all! I always thought that Pat Truchon (a wonderful woman) raised and exceptional son, and family. I can’t wait to see them all reunited in Jehovahs New Earthly Paradise. She will be so proud! I will again make sure I’m at their house for dinner!
Wow, what a lost for now, but not for long until this system is done away with. We all well be jumping up high with Gary our most humble brother in PARADISE. Gary was one of my roommates who moved in with me after my brother moved out in the basement of the duplicate in the Roanoke area in Omaha, Ne. a couple of blocks from his family home. He was so excited to move out and be with his spiritual 5 brothers that he jumped so high he bump his head on the ceiling and fell flat on his rump. I think he was seeing stars. I felt sorry for him but we were laughing so hard . He loved his family dearly but he was happy to be with his spiritual brothers then. He couldn’t handle being around all those GIRLS like Sheryl Boone mention. Yes the Truchon family was a lot of fun to be around. I wish we were still together, but we have a busy life in this system and we learned to be patience with it so we can be all together again FOREVER. Psalm 34 : 8,9, 12,18 19 this chapter always been encouraging to me hope it will be for all. Keep up the faith. Love you all to the Truchon family. OXOX
May all in Gary’s family, along with his many friends, continue to gain comfort from Jehovah and be confident Gary is now especially safe in Jehovah’s perfect memory. Gary was a very good example for me in 1980 while I was beginning to study the Bible in Omaha. During that summer, Gary, Mike Triba, Joe Mohanna and I attended a very large convention in Denver — what an enjoyable and faith strengthening time that was. I was baptized a few weeks later in Lincoln. It look forward to getting to know Gary better in Jehovah’s new world!
