Glennon Gerard Wilmes
Glennon Gerard Wilmes, 59, passed away peacefully with his family beside him offering his soul to God on January 26, 2024.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Samantha (Donald “Shane”) Norton, grandsons Dalton Norton and Dakota Norton, father Ronald Joseph (Dorothy “Dotty”) Wilmes, brothers and sisters Douglas (Patricia) Wilmes, Kenneth Wilmes, Laura (Richard) McGlasson, Sharon (Donald Graeser) Beall, and Diane (Dale) Griesinger, many nieces, nephews, extended family and cherished friends. Glenn was preceded in death by his mother Alice Elaine Wilmes and sister-in-law Sharee Wilmes.
Glenn worked for a number of manufacturing companies throughout his career, but he found his home at Emerson Electric in St. Louis as an Integration Center Lead. His eyes lit up when he talked about the challenges and successes of his work, and his second family.
Finding solace in the outdoors, Glenn had a deep spiritual connection to nature and all the living things of the woods. He took many pictures of the beauty he experienced during his long hikes. He was an avid cyclist and fisherman and loved St. Louis Blues hockey, Cardinals baseball, and NASCAR. He enjoyed reading, collecting stamps and old coins, and more recently golf, but our large family gatherings meant the most to him.
When a helping hand was needed, Glenn was always there. He gave back to his community by serving as an election poll official. His final, most selfless act was to donate his organs, saving the lives of three individuals.
We will forever miss Glenn; his grin, his quick wit, his companionship, his presence.
A Celebration of Life will be announced soon.

Sad to hear as I have only heard bits and pieces of his life over the years. Always considered a friend as I have not seen him for over 30 years. Happy to see he has a loving family to keep him happy and comfortable. A good soul. He will be missed.
