Janet “Jan” McCormick

Janet Boyce McCormick, Age 92 of St. Louis MO, Walked the Runway to her heavenly home on Friday January 5, 2024. Jan was born in St Louis Mo, where she attended Christ The King Elementary School, Academy of Sacred Heart-St Charles and Maryville College. During College she met the Love of her Life ,Dinks McCormick and they were married in 1953. 

Jan had a wonderful career in Fashion. She started her career at age 34 as the tea room model for Stix Baer and Fuller. She went on to be the House Model at Neiman Marcus Frontenac, and eventually started her own Fashion Production company working with the May CO. Malls and various charities in the St Louis Area.

 Jan’s true passion and favorite thing to do was to spend time with her Family especially at their Summer Cottage in Saugatuck-Douglas MI.  Her favorite hobby was gathering “chosen family”. 

Jan will be lovingly remembered by her Children;Tara (Carl) Hogan, Timothy (Debbie) McCormick, Toni (Billy) Britz-Lefley, Her GrandChildren; Trey(Kristin) , Darby (Steven Hille) and Isabel Hogan, William(Kimmy) and Timmy McCormick, PJ (Shanon)and Molly (JJ Ferrington) Britz and Step-Grandchildren; Caleb, Kelsey and Christian Lefley, Her Great Grandchildren; Glennon and Pallen Hogan, Graham,Parley,and Warren Hille, Brady and Grayson McCormick, Peter and Auggie Britz, and Dodge Ferrington.Many Close Cousins and “Chosen”Family. She was preceded in Death by her husband of 53 years, her parents Florence “GiGi” and Tony Boyce, and her son-in-law Peter C. Britz. 

During the last part of her life the staff and residents at Brookdale Creve Coeur, especially her Caregiver Diane and her ‘Special Friend” Bob were all so caring and good to her and her family. 

Jan will be remembered for being “Full of Life”, her wonderful sense of humor and her way to always make the simplest things seem fun. She never met a stranger, loved people and had an incredible way of making people feel welcome and included. Her style will live on in those she influenced with her fashion tips. 

A private family celebration was held in January.

    Jan was a wonderful and fun loving person and had such a sense of style. She was a great neighbor of ours in Douglas and will truly be missed. Sending our thoughts and prayers to her and her family.
