Jerry Joseph Brandel Jr.
Jerry Joseph Brandel Jr. passed away suddenly at Christian Extended Care on Monday, April 8th, 2024 at the age of 44. He was born in Frankfurt, Germany.
He is reunited with his paternal grandfather Patrick Brandel, mother Rene Brandel (Hodges), brother Christopher Brandel, and maternal grandparents Larry & Elaine Hodges.
Jerry was survived by his loving father, Jerry Joseph Brandel Sr. and lovingly remembered by his paternal grandmother Leona Brandel (Perryville, MO), aunt Susan Regelsperger (Perryville, MO), uncle Patrick Brandel Jr. (Seattle, WA) and many cousins.
Friends and family will always remember Jerry for his kind heart and willingness to give to those whose lives he touched.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the National Kidney Foundation in Jerry’s memory so he can continue helping others.
Jerry Jr was a very brave man with a love for his brother, father, and late mother that I believe kept him pushing on through his many medical issues for most of his life. He told me that a government worker asked him why he kept going and he was appalled at the question which shows his focus was on staying healthy. I believe the example his father set in dealing with his own health problems made him stronger also. Kathy and my prayers are with Jerry Sr. In this trying time. JJ as the family called him, was a true tender and loving individual. His heart was nothing but love. Yes, he struggled through many medical issues and fought to stay healthy and strong. His family was his greatest gift, and he knew it! You will be deeply missed and cherished. Prayers to my brother in this time of grieving. May God you comfort and joy.
As neighbors with the Brandel family in Spanish Lake, we have very fond memories of Jerry Jr. when he was a teenager. Jerry liked hanging out with the guys at football practice so Ken signed him on as a ball boy for the 2 hand touch football team. Jerry had a great sense of humor and was a hit with the team!
We will keep Jerry Sr. in our prayers for peace and comfort.
