Horace Busch, Sr.

On Sunday, June 13, 2010 Horace Richard Busch, Sr. of St. Louis, Missouri, passed away peacefully at home after 81 years of life full of love and commitment to his family, friends, and the St. Louis community.
Horace was the youngest of three children born in Chicago, Illinois to the late William Franklin and Vivian Genieva Busch. The family later moved to St. Louis in the Mill Creek Neighborhood where he attended St. Malachy’s Catholic Church serving as an altar boy and cantor. He attended St. Joseph’s Catholic High School (later known as St. Ann’s Elementary School).
Horace Richard Busch, Sr. married Anna Lee Perry on December 31, 1952 and had six children. A marriage of over 57 years.
He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War receiving an Honorable Discharge as a Sergeant October 19, 1956.
Horace maintained supervisory positions the majority of his life and retired from Mitch Murch Maintenance Management.
He and his family lived in the 28th Ward of St. Louis where he proved to be an advocate for the residents in his community. He served as a lector for the Sunday morning Televised Mass at KTVI Channel 2 on a quarterly schedule for approximately 20 years. He earned the honor of Fourth degree with the Knights of Columbus.
Horace leaves to mourn his passing, a wife Anna, sister Marjorie Ford, brother William Frank Busch II, son, Horace Jr., daughters Shirley, Vivian, Pamela, Debra, and Karen, grandchildren Rich, Tina, Cerissa, Kelly, Korry, Ashley, great grandchildren Teylor, Brittney, Kayla, T’Shaun, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
