Kenneth McCarthy
Kenneth (Kenny) McCarthy, 68 of Creve Coeur, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on June 12, 2024. Born in St. Louis on December 3, 1955, he was the son of the late Michael Joseph McCarthy Jr. and Joan Marie McCarthy nee (Watts).
Kenny was a devoted father and husband. He loved gardening and being outside amongst his many landscaping creations. He was a skilled Mr. Fix-it with numerous projects on the go. His secret workshop where he loved to hangout had well-labelled tools and was full of treasures. He worked as a brewer at Anheuser Busch for 34 years. He was quick-witted and enjoyed making people laugh with a twinkle in his eye. He will be missed terribly by his family, friends and many nieces and nephews who knew him as “fun Uncle Kenny”.
He is survived by his wife, Dawne Marie, and children: Michael (Janet) and their children, Lexie, Sydney, and Robert, Orlando; Breanne (Ben), Philadelphia; Monica, Los Angeles; and sisters and brothers Christine (Geoffrey) Powers, Laura (Bob) Dick, Dana Jones, Marianne (Rick) LaMartina and Kevin McCarthy. He was the nephew of William Watts and Gloria Hennecke. He is also survived by in-laws, Brian (Mary) Petrie (New Victoria, Nova Scotia), Glen Petrie (Dundas, Ontario), Mary Petrie (Scotchtown, Nova Scotia), Roselyn (Michael) MacLean, (Halifax, Nova Scotia), Blair Petrie (Sydney, Nova Scotia), Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Michael (Mick) McCarthy, niece Stacy Powers and in-laws, Charlie Jones, Daniel and Marie Petrie, brother-in-law Gary Petrie Sr. and nephew Gary Petrie Jr.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Grace Church at 2695 Creve Coeur Mill Rd., Maryland Heights, on Friday, June 14, 2024, from 1-2 pm with funeral service at 2:00 pm. Pastor Bob Pickett will be the officiate. Reception details to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in Kenny’s memory may be made to the American Lung Association.

McCarthy family we are so very sorry to hear of the passing of Kenny. I remember him from the many times I stayed at your house back in high school. He is now at peace and is with the rest of your family watching over all of you. Prayers for you all at this tragic time. Love to all.
