Dr. Kenneth Henry Buchmann

December 31st, 1929 – September 20th, 2024

Dr. Kenneth Henry Buchmann passed away September 20, 2024 at New Haven Care Center, New Haven, MO.

Ken was born December 31, 1929 at home in St Louis, the son of Arthur and Marie (Reck) Buchmann.  He served his country in the Army during the Korean Conflict and after an honorable discharge, finished his education at the University of Missouri Veterinary School and graduated with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1958.  That year he set up practice in Washington, MO and practiced large and small veterinary medicine until his retirement in 1995 when he sold his practice, Animal Hospital of Washington to Dr. Daniel J. Smith.

 

He married Cathy Kloppe on October 20, 1988. He was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Port Hudson.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Herbert Buchmann, and his first wife Ann (Perkins) Buchmann.

 

He is survived by his wife Cathy, five sons: Eric Buchmann and wife, Libby, Kansas City, MO., Brian Buchmann and wife, Anita, Washington, MO, David Buchmann and wife, Teresa, Washington, MO, Neal Buchmann and wife, Amy, Caledonia, MI, Kenneth E. Buchmann, San Francisco, CA. and two daughters Diane Buchmann and partner Matt Fenton, Columbia, MO and Elaine White and husband Kurt, Treloar, MO.

 

Also survived by five brothers-in-law, Keith Kloppe and wife Connie, Neil Kloppe, Terry Kloppe and wife Theresa, Craig Kloppe and wife Shelia, Kim Kloppe and wife Barbara, Rick Kloppe and wife Connie, all of New Haven. and three sisters-in-law: Catherine Harms Buchmann, St Louis, Beverly Scheer and husband, Wayne, New Haven and Lynette Kloppe, New Haven. Also survived by Grand and Great Grandchildren, Step-Grand and Great Granchildren, Nieces, Nephew, a Cousin and many friends and neighbors.

Arrangements were handled by St. Louis Cremation.
