Harold “Hal” J. Frederick
November 23rd, 1938 – September 25th, 2024
Harold “Hal” J. Frederick of St. Louis, MO, passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at the age of 85.
Hal was born November 23, 1938, the son of Harold and Catherine Frederick. In his youth, Hal was an avid baseball player and was even scouted by the St. Louis Cardinals. He also served in the Army Reserves as an Armor Crewman in Fort Knox, KY. As an adult, he worked for Superior / Roadway trucking companies until retiring at age 55. In “retirement”, he then went on to work for another 20 years at Sunset Country Club in their Pro Shop (as golf was a passion of his). In actual retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his family, playing cards, watching sports and many evenings at the casino. Hal was a humble man with a very big heart. He will be deeply missed and forever will be “always on our minds”.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Dennis (Susan) Frederick, and his beloved wife of 60 years Sandra L. Frederick (nee Engler).
Proud father of Michelle (Peter) Giorgi, Colleen (John) Hartmann and James (Brian Deutschmann) Frederick. Cherished grandfather of Melissa (Andy) Tyler, Alexander Giorgi, Mackenzie (Trey) Pratt, Samantha Hartmann, Sarah Hartmann and Jake Hartmann. Loving great grandfather of Kaylee and Kinsley Tyler. Dear brother of Mary (the late Buz) Kaido and Keith (Marilyn) Frederick.
In remembrance of Hal’s life, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to Open Door Animal Sanctuary in his name.
Services: A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Dear James, Colleen and Michelle
So sorry to hear of your Dad’s passing. Praying for you and your families. With Sympathy, Betty Springkamper
Colleen, James and Michelle, Nancy informed us of your dad’s passing. Pat and I are so sorry. We had so many fun times with our great friends, Hal & Sandy over the years. Not just at the band gigs, but also the many times we would meet up at the casino for a little dinner and some time together trying to beat the house.
Your dad not only loved your mom, but he simply adored her! The two of them will always be in our hearts.
Pat and I, along with the other Charlie Mann band members, Nancy, Gerry and Dennis, offer our heart-felt condolences. Hal and Sandy were meant to be together and now they are…forever.
