Jo Ann Campbell (Nichols)
Jo Ann Campbell (Nichols), 83, of Labadie, Missouri passed away peacefully at St. Andrews
Francis Place in Eureka, Missouri on September 14, 2024.
She was born on July 12, 1941, in Fulton, Missouri to Arthur J. and Gretchen L. (Wilkerson)
Nichols.
Jo Ann graduated from Fulton High School, Class of 1959. During high school she worked as a
clerk at Mattingly’s Department Store in Fulton. After high school, she attended college in
Kirksville, Missouri. Jo Ann also attended East Central College in Union, Missouri.
She was proceeded in death by her parents and her loving husband of over 40 years, Bruce A.
Campbell. Jo Ann and her husband operated their own woodworking business, Creations in
Wood and were members of Silver Dollar City Craft Guild for many years. They sold their
handcrafted items at Midwest mall craft shows and SDC amusement park from the mid-1980s
through the 1990s.
Later in life, Jo Ann worked in Admissions at Mercy Hospital in Washington, Missouri.
Her hobbies included gardening, going to play Bingo with friends and visiting the casino
where she liked to spend time winning at the slot machines. She loved her pets and
gave a home to many cats and dogs during her lifetime. She particularly liked Bassett
Hounds and Saint Bernards and adopted several over the years. However, Jo Ann’s
biggest love was raising her sons and helping care for her grandson.
Those left to cherish her memory are sons, George David Morrison (spouse Sarah) of
Labadie and Richard Keith Morrison of Washington, stepson Bruce E. Campbell
(spouse Stacie) of Mountain View, Arkansas, grandson George Anthony Morrison, and
many friends.
A private celebration of Jo Ann’s life will be held later.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to the Alzheimer’s
Association or a local animal shelter.
