Rebecca Jane Coleman Grzywacz Alexander
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Rebecca “Becky” Jane Coleman Grzywacz Alexander, beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and dear friend to many. She passed peacefully on October 31, 2024. Becky was known for her wonderful personality, fierce sense of humor, and infectious smile which lit up every room she entered.
She was born to Clyde Calvin Coleman, Jr and Sandra Sue Proctor on December 10, 1962. She enjoyed being with family and friends, playing a good round of cards like rummy, and sports. She especially loved her two children, Jennifer “Jenny” Renee Moore (nee Grzywacz) and Joseph “Joey” Grzywacz III, who she shared with her former husband, Joseph Grzywacz, Jr.
Becky loved and took joy in spending time with her four grandchildren: Parker, Gavin, Mack and Jocelyn (JoJo), as well as many special nieces and nephews. Many wonderful family events were enjoyed.
Becky was a beloved 1981Collinsville High School graduate. She played softball with her sister throughout their youth and beyond, culminating in a 1984 Amateur Softball Illinois State Championship with the Collinsville Red Devils.
Working as the bar manager at Charlie Gitto’s downtown St. Louis was the highlight of her career in the restaurant/bar business. As an avid sports fan, she was able to meet and secure autographs from many athletes including the Saint Louis Cardinals, Saint Louis Rams, Saint Louis Blues, as well as other professional athletes that frequented the well-known restaurant. Becky enjoyed socializing and became great friends with many patrons everywhere she worked.
Becky’s spirit shone brightest during the holiday season, when her love for Christmas was evident! She would festively decorate her home and yard. She enjoyed wrapping and giving thoughtful gifts to those close to her. Becky enjoyed being surrounded by the laughter and joy of family and friends. Her passion for cooking and baking was evident in the delicious homemade meals she made, especially her chicken and dumplings, snickerdoodles, and sugar cookies that brought smiles to many throughout the year.
In addition to her family, Becky had a profound love for her Yorkies, always considering them part of the family and loyal companions. Animals brought her endless hours of joy since her youth.
Becky was preceded in death by her father, Clyde Calvin Coleman Jr. as well as her beloved Grandparents. She is survived by her husband, Mickey Alan Alexander; her mother, Sandra Sue Coleman (nee Proctor); her brother, Curt Franklin Coleman; her sister, Lori Renee Coleman; her daughter, Jennifer Moore (Adam Moore); her son, Joseph Grzywacz III; her aunt, Connie Jean Otto (nee Proctor); her children; her grandchildren; her nieces, nephews, cousins; her former fiancé, Thomas Paul Roberts, who remains very involved in her children and grandchildren’s lives; her dear friends, Patty Edwards Dial and Bryan Colyer; and a multitude of friends who will miss Becky dearly.

Becky was a dear and special friend to me. I loved her like a sister. We had many escapades together. If she was your friend she showed it. I am going to be lost without her. I know she is no longer suffering and with God’s loving arms. Becky was one of the best. Miss you my dear friend.
