Lawrence Timothy McEvoy
Lawrence Timothy McEvoy, 70, of St. Louis, Missouri passed peacefully
surrounded by his family on November 5, 2024, after his decade long battle
with Parkinson’s and dementia. Larry was the youngest of five children
born to Morris James (Jim), and Mary Virginia (Marie) McEvoy.
Larry grew up in the Epiphany parish of St. Louis city with his four brothers:
Jim (Peggy), Mike (Barb), Marty (Vicki), and Tom. He attended DuBourg
high school, where he was class valedictorian in 1972. He received his
bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Missouri –
Columbia and Binghamton University, respectively.
On April 13, 1985, Larry married Donna McEvoy, and they have lived in St.
Louis Hills for over 40 years. He is survived by his wife and four sons,
Michael Douglas Kersten, John Martin (Jaime Mathieu), James Timothy,
and Joseph Patrick McEvoy. While raising his family, Larry worked at
Anheuser-Busch in their marketing department, and in the WashU
department of psychiatry. His interests mainly revolved around his kids’
activities over the years. He loved musicals, was known for his Elvis
impersonations, and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.
In 2023, Larry became a grandfather to Carter Rose McEvoy. Although
their time together was brief, she always brought a smile to his face, and he
was extremely proud to be her grandpa.
We will miss his kindness and wonderful sense of humor.
A funeral mass will be held on Friday, November 22, at 10:00am at St.
Gabriel the Archangel Church, located at 6303 Nottingham Ave, St. Louis,
MO 63109. Immediately following the mass, guests are welcome to visit the
McEvoy residence in St. Louis Hills to celebrate Larry’s life.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Larry may consider donating to
the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
I am so sorry for your loss Bev Kramer
