Glen E. Schloessman
November 17, 1953 – December 5, 2024
Glen Schloessman 71, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, December 5, 2024. Glen was preceded in death by his parents Dottie and Don Schloessman, and his brother in law, Dennis Penning.
He is lovingly survived by his sister, Debbie (late Dennis) Penning, and brother, Ken (Pam) Schloessman. He was the proud uncle of seven nephews; Dave (Karen), Scott (Jody), Pat, and Chris (Nicole) Penning, Matt (Shannon), Trevor and Todd Schloessman.
Dear great uncle to Mandy (Craig) Brodbeck, Hayley, Courtney, Hannah, Scotty and Jax Penning, Brooke Reger, Nora and Max Schloessman; great-great nieces Aubrey and Ava Brodbeck; cousins Minda Harris, Kathy (late Rich) Dethlefs, Jill (Rick) Davis and Ellen (Dave) Wright; and many friends and extended family members.
Glen graduated from Berkeley High school in 1972 and then attended Northeast Missouri State College. Soon after graduating in 1977, he was hired as an accountant for Anheuser Busch and remained there until he retired in 2008. He had a love/hate relationship with the St. Louis Cardinals. He was an avid critic of the players, management and announcers, (in which he gave many of them his own nicknames), but never missed watching a game. Listening to his take of Cardinal baseball was always entertaining. Most of all he loved gathering with his family, especially his nephews who referred to him as Uncle Glenny Ray or GR, always sharing many laughs and fun times with him.
At Glen’s request, there will be no services held. The family will celebrate his life privately. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Glen may share a laugh while drinking a Bud Light or a glass of iced tea.
I miss you dearly. We had alot of great times you, me and David. Rest in peace my friend.
I am heartbroken you left so early and at such a bad time. RIP sweet cousin you were loved and will be forever missed. Sending sympathy to Debbie and Kenny, and all the St. Louis family and friends everywhere.
I will be happy to lift a bud light in his honor!
Some of my favorite memories were with you and Debbie, after the rest of the family fell asleep on family day. We always just git each other. Love you uncle! Love, Courtney Ray
