Alan Spangler

Alan James Spangler passed away at home in Augusta, Missouri on December 18, 2024 at the age of 64. He was born in Glendale, California on June 26, 1960. He grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. He is preceded in death by his mother, Helen Long nee Hogan; father, Guy William Spangler, Jr.; and brother Glen Clarence Spangler. He is survived by his loving wife, Nanette Karole Spangler nee Jex of 40 years. He is lovingly remembered by his son, Bradley James Spangler (Anna-Carolina Spangler); his daughter, Morgan Elizabeth Spangler Ballance (Conrad Ballance); and his grandchildren and step-grandchildren: Bristol Faye Norwood, Karoline Alana Norwood, Andreas Joshua Spangler, Joline Grace Spangler, Sarah Joy Spangler, Dakota Rose Ballance, Duncan Pascal Ballance, and William Colt Ballance. His brother, Gary William Spangler (Julie Aimen-Spangler); his brother Michael Scott Spangler (Debbie Spangler); his sister, Karen Skaggs nee Spangler (Michael Skaggs); and his many nephews and nieces. 

Alan took a lot of pride in his work as a carpenter. He enjoyed hiking, golfing, kayaking, fishing, and many more outdoor activities. He enjoyed traveling around the world with his wife, Nanette. Alan loved spending time with his family and friends more than anything else. He was the rock of his family and had a profound impact on everyone he knew. Alan attended Living Lord Lutheran Church in Lake St. Louis, MO with Nanette. 

Service Information: 

A Memorial Service will be held at 10am on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at Living Lord Lutheran Church in Lake St. Louis, MO. A Celebration of Life will follow immediately after at the parish hall at Immaculate Conception Church of Dardenne Prairie, MO.
