I’m very sorry to learn about the loss of your mom. Her obituary is beautiful and I do remember her from grade school. She was always so kind and thoughtful at the room parties. As children, I don’t think we could ever be prepared to lose them. So when it happens, it’s life shattering. My heart goes out to you at this very devastating time in life. If there’s just one thing I can offer you it’s to be patient with yourself. You will experience a lot of emotions and you need to be patient with yourself and experience them. I still tell myself on a very regular basis how blessed I am to have had my mom for 50 years. And you had yours longer and she was a gift to you and your family. I will be praying for you and your family for the patience, strength, courage and comfort to get through this very difficult time.
