John Clinton Lovell

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of John Clinton Lovell, also known as Clint, who left this world on February 10, 2025, in St. Louis, Missouri. Born on August 5, 1968, in Louisiana, Missouri, Clint was a cherished son, brother, father, grandfather, and friend who touched the lives of many during his remarkable journey.

Clint was the beloved son of John Clemon Lovell and Linda Rae Lovell, and he grew up surrounded by the love of his family, including his grandparents Otto and Wanella Rae Maly, as well as Eugenia and Raymond “Ike” Lovell. He was preceded in death by his father, John Clemon Lovell; his sister, Johnna Nanette Lovell; and his loving grandparents, leaving a legacy of love that will continue to resonate through those he leaves behind.

Clint’s early years were filled with adventures by the river and train tracks in Louisiana, where he formed countless memories with his grandparents. In 1981, the Lovell family moved to Columbia, Missouri, where Clint graduated from Rock Bridge High School in 1987, laying the foundation for a life of hard work and dedication.

In pursuit of his career, Clint joined Local Union 562 Plumbers and Pipefitters in 1991, where he honed his skills as a Journeyman Pipefitter. For over 25 years, he devoted himself to his craft until his retirement in 2019. Clint was known as a master of all trades; there was nothing he couldn’t fix or renovate. His friends and family often turned to him for help with projects, and he was always more than willing to lend a hand.

Clint’s hobbies reflected his creative spirit and passion for life. He enjoyed fishing, crafting, building, and working on cars, but his greatest joy came from spending time with his family. He was incredibly proud of his children, Tara Michelle Lovell-Jeffries and John Alexander Lovell. Clint’s role as a grandfather to Liam Scott Jeffries brought him immeasurable happiness and pride.

He is survived by his loving mother, Linda Rae Maly; step-mom, Mary-Ann (Holland) Lovell (John Lovell spouse); his children, Tara and John (Alex); his grandson, Liam; his sister, Tracy Lovell; and his brother, Jeff Lovell.

Clint was a kind soul with a generous heart. His playful spirit extended to the companionship of his partner Kelly, and their two pugs, who were a source of joy in his life. Clint’s laughter, warmth, humor and relentless spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A Celebration of Clint’s life will take place on March 6, 2025, 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The Riechmann Indoor Pavilion

2300 E Walnut St.

Columbia, Missouri 65201

Friends and family are invited to gather and share in the memories of a remarkable man who touched so many lives.

As we remember Clint, let us hold dear the moments we shared, the lessons he taught us, and the love he gave so freely. May his spirit continue to inspire us to live fully and love deeply, just as he did every day of his life. Rest in Paradise, Clint. You will forever remain in our hearts.
