Barbara “Jeannie” Hendrix (nee DeClue)
Barbara “Jeannie” Hendrix (nee DeClue) passed away peacefully on Wednesday February 26th 2025 at the age of 81. She was born in St Louis, MO on Wednesday March 10th 1943, but lived her life in Herculaneum, MO.
She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond “Ray” Hendrix, father Leo “Shorty” DeClue, mother Dorothy “Dot” DeClue (nee Pashia) and two brothers Richard and Michael DeClue.
She is survived by daughter, Joyce Borisch (nee Hendrix), son Andrew (Becky) Hendrix, grandson Kyle (Haley) Hendrix, step-grandchildren David (Jaime) Schoolcraft, Theo Schoolcraft, and step-great grandson Sayer Schoolcraft.
Jeannie enjoyed doing puzzles in the winter, Hallmark Movies, her fur babies, and making people smile. What she enjoyed the most though was either watching the St. Louis Cardinals play ball on TV or going to the ball games with her family. Seeing the Clydesdales in person at her first opening day ball game was a dream come true for her.
She is going to be remembered and missed by everyone that was able to know and love her.
A memorial mass and celebration of life are being planned by the family for later this year
Oh, Jeannie the life adventures we shared. From evacuating a spring flood, watching NASCAR races on Sunday afternoon TV, and spending hours playing cards. And so many other things to numerous to list. Missing you so much. My phone just automatically wants to dial your number so you can keep me company via Bluetooth as I am on the road again. Love you so much dear friend.
Prayers and Sympathy to Joyce, Andy, Becky, Kyle, and Haley. May your memories help your hearts to smile again soon. Love from Jerry and Pam.
Roscoe loved you so much! We all hear the stories and the impact you had made on his life. I didn’t know you well but what I did know I loved! My oldest 2 remember meeting you at -I55.
There was no one so sweet always helping with anything that needed to be done. She loved the kids and they loved her. She will be sorely missed. If Debi Hurst was still alive she would say the same thing. God Bless her.
From my childhood at the baseball field, to my FAVORITE teacher 3rd/4th grade, to taking me home with you after school when mom had night classes, to I-55 Races, and everything in between! You are one of my all time favorite people and had such an impact on my life! You loved like no other and made everyone around you so happy! Loved and missed forever!
So sorry to hear this! She was the sweetest and the best score keeper ever! She loved her baseball and the kids! Sorry we didn’t go visit her!
R.I.P. Jeannie! ❤️❤️
