In Loving Memory of Amy Richards
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Amy Kathleen Burr Richards on April 26, 2025, at the age of 64. Her loving husband and two sons were with her, ensuring peace and comfort at the time of her passing.
Born on March 4th, 1961, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Richard and Marian Burr, Amy’s journey through life was marked by love, dedication, and service. She married her high school sweetheart, Curt Richards, on January 22, 1983. Together, they built a family and a life filled with joy, laughter, and countless memories.
Amy is survived by her devoted husband, Curt, her beloved sons and their spouses, CJ (Lawson) and Kyle (Danielle), and her cherished grandchildren, Wells and Rae. She is preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Marian Burr, her sister, Julie Burr, and her brother, Rick Burr.
Amy’s educational journey began at Lindbergh High School in St. Louis, MO. She went on to complete her undergraduate degree at Missouri State University, studied in France, and earned a master’s degree at Indiana University. A lifelong educator, Amy touched the lives of many students through her teaching of middle and high school French, third grade science, and character education. Late in her career, she developed character education programs across Missouri and led various leadership development initiatives.
Her commitment to the community was evident through her extensive volunteer work, active participation in Rotary, and teaching swim lessons. Amy’s passion for service extended beyond the classroom and into every aspect of her life. In her spare time, she loved traveling and relaxing at the Lake of the Ozarks with family and friends. Her personal hobbies often involved helping others, as she truly lived in service to those around her.
Amy’s legacy of love and service will be remembered by all who knew her. She was always ready with a plan for fun activities or an event and a gooey butter cake just when you needed it most.

Amy was one of the best people in the world. She was so kind, so sweet, and so giving. She is a huge loss to our community. Prayers to Kurt, her kids, and nephew Josh.
I’m so very saddened to hear of this tremendous loss. Amy was such a wonderful person, always with a smile and light around her. From knowing her in high school and later as a teacher when my kids were at Lindbergh, it was my pleasure and honor to know her. Praying for God’s comfort for Curt and her children.
Amy was one of my first childhood friends, always smiling, always kind. I’m heartbroken and saddened to hear of her passing. Prayers for comfort and peace to Curt and her boys.
Amy was truly the sweetest person I’ve ever met. Always thinking about others and what she could do to possibly help everyone. A dear friend that will truly be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you Curt, CJ, Kyle and the whole family especially her sweet grand babies that she so cherished.
The Callahan Clan will miss her forever. She lived as an angel in training and just graduated with the Highest Honors.
Amy was my introduction to teaching at Lindbergh. She immediately took me under her wing and was a constant source of encouragement and praise for all things kid-centered. Devotion, integrity, compassion and diligence drove her to be one of Lindbergh’s greatest products and champions. Her impact on Lindbergh is lasting!
I knew Amy as a standout teacher in the Lindbergh School district. She was an amazing French teacher, but more than that she showed understanding and compassion to all in the student body. A true loss for so many who knew her and loved her. Sad farewell.
Amy always had a smile on her face and brought joy to everyone she interacted with. Rest in peace.
Amy was a wonderful person. She will be greatly missed.
Mrs. Richard’s, you will be missed. My children, Chloe and Josh loved having you as their teacher at Kennerly Elementary. And teaching these kiddos French! I loved it. Blessings to your family, I know you are in the arms of Jesus, and hoping your family feels comfort being surrounddd by friends and family. The Katich Family
Amy will be missed by many. Because of her, my children’s desire to study French continued into college. She was a great teacher and friend.
I am saddened to hear of Julie’s passing. She was a childhood friend of mine. I was in Girl Scouts with her; in fact, her mother was our troop leader. We had so much fun and I fondly remember all the camping adventures. Because of that enjoyable time in my childhood, I took my daughter’s girl scout troop camping to Cedarledge, Camp Fiddlecreek, etc. I’m sure she is in the arms of her family now. Her husband and sons are in my prayers.
The world lost a very nice Lady. She will be missed.😢
