Janice Wood (née Talbert)
September 29, 1947 – April 30, 2025

Janice Wood, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on April 30, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on September 29, 1947, in St. Louis, Missouri, Janice lived a life full of love, strength, and quiet determination.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Lucille Talbert; her brother, Richard Talbert; her sister, Barbara Marshall; and her great-grandson, Xayndar Thomas.

Janice is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Melissa Roberson and Stacy Wood; her grandchildren Charlissa, Ricky (Dontrese), Jacob (Jessica), Mackenzie (Bryant), Danny, Daymn, and Taylor; and her great-grandchildren Rinylah, Emery, Leilah, Max, Nia KayKay, and Aleah. She is also fondly remembered by her former husband, Merrill Wood.

Janice had a remarkable work ethic and a vibrant spirit that touched everyone who knew her. She worked for 26 years in Accounts Payable at Metal Goods, where her dedication and attention to detail were deeply valued. Retirement did not slow her down—in fact, her energy and refusal to sit still led her to continue working for another 23 years. Her tireless commitment and vibrant personality left a lasting impression on her colleagues and friends.

Outside of work, Janice found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved soaking up the sun outdoors, challenging herself with word searches, and creating beautiful pieces of diamond art. These small passions brought her peace and pride, and reflected the creativity and warmth she carried throughout her life.

A service to celebrate Janice’s life will be held on May 21, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at St. Louis Cremation – St. Peters location. Family and friends are invited to come together to honor her memory and share in the stories of her well-lived life.

She will be missed deeply and remembered always.
