Denise Shurtz (née Engert) August 4, 1955 – April 23, 2025

Denise was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and a friend to many. She was born in DuQuoin, Illinois, and was raised and lived in St. Charles. She was preceded in Death by her parents, (Mother)Pat Schroeder and Bob Schroeder, (Father)Fred and Rose Engert and stepbrother David Rufkhar.  She was the cherished wife of thirty six years to Greg Shurtz, devoted mom to Bradley, Barry and Brittany, and grandmother of seven.  She is survived by her siblings, Cheryl (Andy) Jepsen, Ronnie (Anne) Engert, Debbie (Rick) Haenchen, Kathy Ball and Janene Guardi.

Denise always loved kids and worked for many years as a para professional in the St. Charles school district. She was talented and creative with her crafts, making special gifts for her family and friends.
