David Johnson

 

David E. Johnson. 90, of Green Park, Mo., Born November 10, 1920 in St. Louis, Mo., entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, June 1, 2011.  He was the beloved husband of Arlene G. Johnson (nee Reed) for 68 years, dearest father of Ronald L. (Diana) Johnson of DeSoto, Mo., Janet A. Johnson of Arnold, Mo., David M. (Patty) Johnson  of O’Fallon, Mo., Grandfather of Lisa (Larry) Farrar, John Inman, Douglas Johnson, Chalaine (Paul) Klaus, Samantha Johnson, Great-grandfather to Katherine Abraham (nee Farrar), Betsy Farrar, Olivia Farrar, Brittany Johnson, Corey Johnson, Brooke Johnson, Kirsten Inman, Jordan Brewer, Owen Klaus, Addison Klaus.  Dearest Brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, and dear friend to many.
 
He was preceeded in death by his father Guy E. Johnson, his mother Beaulah  E. Johnson (nee Howe), his brother Robert L. Johnson, and his sister Doris Moyer.
 
David served in the Navy during World War II.  After returning from the war he became a small  neighborhood grocery store owner and then a florist for some time before becoming a teamster.  He remained a proud member of Teamsters Union 610 until he retired.
 
David was a devoted family man and dearly loved his family and friends, and he will be deeply missed by them all.
 
Family and friends are invited to The Arlington Inn in DeSoto, Mo. on Sunday, June 12 between the hours of 2pm to 5pm to join together in celebration of his life.

    Our deepest condolences on the loss of Mr. Johnson. Though he is no longer here on this earth, he will live on forever in your hearts and in your memories.

    I love you guys and my thoughts are with you. Uncle Dave was a wonderful man and a great uncle. He reminded me so much of Dad. I will miss him, but he is in a better place now and with Daddy and Doris. Love you so much.
