Gary Dennis Thaller

January 16th, 1958 – May 31st, 2025

Gary Dennis Thaller passed away suddenly at his home in St. Charles on May 31st, 2025 at the age of 67. He was born in St. Louis, MO on January 16th, 1958.

Gary was predeceased by his parents, Norman and Patricia Thaller and his brother, Thomas Thaller.

Gary was survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Jan Thaller.

Gary will be lovingly remembered by his son Brandon (Jessica) Thaller, his daughter Alex (Ryan) King, his grandson Leo, sister Gwen (Bill) Grohs, his brother Richard Thaller, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Gary started his career as an Electrician with IBEW Local 1. He eventually opened his first business, Clayton Pet Emporium and even became a partial owner of Walt Smith International.

Gary loved gardening, cooking, woodworking, traveling, diving & salt water fish.

In his free time you could find him boating, working on home improvement projects, sampling food and drink at local establishments, jamin’ out to loud music, hanging out with friends, spending time with his kids and grandson and buying hamburgers for his dogs (Louie & Mia) and grandpuppy (Lilly).

The family has found a quote that they feel captures Gary’s outlook on life. “Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, totally worn out and proclaiming, wow what a ride!”

Donations in lieu of flowers may be made in dedication of Gary to the APA Adoption Center in Brentwood, MO.
