Daryl was born November 18,  1958 in Saint Louis, MO. Both parents preceded him in death: Stanley Curtis and Hairsteen Curtis. Daryl grew up in north city and attended Saint Louis public schools.

Daryl enjoyed watching sports and spending time with his loved ones.

Daryl departed life on May 3, 2025 and leaves to cherish in his memory wife Deborah Curtis, one daughter Tiffany Curtis, two sons Jamaar Curtis, and Darius Curtis; proceeded in death sister Sharon Curtis, brother Derek Curtis and a host of cousins, nephews, and a niece.
