Pastor Gary A. Lampe
June 29, 1952 – May 19, 2025

Pastor Gary A. Lampe, affectionately known as “Padre,” passed away peacefully on May 19, 2025, at the age of 72.

Born on June 29, 1952, in Monett, Missouri, Gary was the son of Erwin and Olga (Holle) Lampe. He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Freistatt, Missouri, where his lifelong faith journey began.

Gary is preceded in death by his beloved son, Troy Lampe; his parents, Erwin and Olga Lampe; and his in-laws, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Gehring.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 46 years, Diann Lampe; his brother Kenneth Lampe and sister-in-law; as well as extended family and countless friends.

Gary’s ministry was quiet yet powerful. He wasn’t flashy or loud—his impact came through genuine connection, a listening ear, and a heart full of grace. His pastoral care was rooted in humility and love. Whether family, friend, or stranger, all were welcomed by Padre with open arms and a kind spirit.

Many who met him marveled at how deeply he cared. Some would say, “I don’t know how Padre Lampe could like me.” But that was the mystery of grace at work—his love was unearned, unwavering, and deeply rooted in Christ.

Pastor Gary A. Lampe will be dearly missed, but his legacy of love, faith, and compassion will continue in the hearts of all who knew him.
