Ruby M. Hicks, 92, of Arnold died June 25, 2011, at St. Anthony’s Medical Center.  Mrs. Hicks was born June 28, 1918, in Roselle, Missouri, the daughter of Emmett and Lue Lewis (Spitzmiller).  She was preceded in death by her first husband, George T. Gerdes, and her second husband, Paul V. Hicks.

She is survived by two children: Joyce Guzman (Sylvester) of Louisville, Kentucky and Ronald Gerdes (Loena) of Oakville; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her son Roger Gerdes (Roberta) of Mehlville.  She is also survived by her step children and their families:  Marilyn Miller of Bartlett, Illinois; Barbara Schrader (Stephen) of Crestwood; Paul V. Hicks Jr. of St. Louis; John Hicks (Karen) of Mehlville; and Donna Schneider (Eric) of Boise, Idaho.

Arrangements were by St. Louis Cremation.  A memorial service to be held later.  Burial of her ashes will be private.
