Mary Ann Vitale Abeln
November 27, 1940 – July 4, 2025

Mary Ann Vitale Abeln of St. Louis, Missouri, passed away on July 4, 2025, at the age of 84, surrounded by the love of her family.

Mary Ann is survived by her loving daughter, Debra Marie; grandchildren Wayne (Bridget) and Kevin Wright; and her great-grandchildren Kyle, Nolan (Shelby) and Khloe Wright, who brought her endless joy. She also leaves behind her great-great-grandchild Avana Leigh Ann Wright, born May 27, 2025.

Mary Ann is also survived by her brother Joe and sister-in-law Rosemary Vitale, a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family and dear friends; brother-in-law Bob along with sister-in-law Nancy Abeln and sister-in-law Joyce Busch.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Denny (Abes) Abeln; her parents, Sam and Rose Vitale; brother Vince, (Dorothy), brother Sam (Donna) Vitale, sister Fara (Gene) Fleer, and sister Grace (Sam) Norvell. She was also preceded in death by her dearest of in-laws Harry and Sis Abeln, along with her brother-In-Law Fred Bush.

Born on November 27, 1940, in St. Louis, Missouri, Mary Ann was born a twin to a brother who sadly passed at birth. She was a devoted mother and wife who took great pride in her family and extended family.

Mary Ann retired from Central Hardware and still managed to be a devoted homemaker. She was a hard-working, selfless, classy woman and always put her family first. She leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and fond memories. Her presence will be deeply missed by her friends and family.

A celebration of life will be held in her honor at a later date.
