James Vincent Calamia

November 4, 1948 – July 26, 2025

James Vincent Calamia, 76, of St. Louis, Missouri, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2025.

Born in St. Louis on November 4, 1948, Jim was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Leo and Lena Calamia. He is survived by his devoted significant other, Peggy Conners; his cherished daughter, Angela (Matt) Kinser; and his treasured grandchildren, Alexander and Olivia Kinser.

Jim also shared a special bond with Peggy’s children, John (Laura) Conners and their children Olivia, Margo, and Arden Conners; and Katie (Ted) Jones and their children Vivian and Lyla Jones.

He leaves behind his loving siblings: Maria Loomis, Linda (Bill) Weber, Randy (Janet) Calamia, and Nancy (Tom) Gammon, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.

Jim proudly served in the United States Army and the Army Reserves for a total of 21 years. He then went on to build a long and successful career at Boeing, where he worked with dedication until retirement.

Known for his warm presence, quick wit, and generous spirit, Jim loved to golf, travel, and entertain. He found joy in bringing people together and will be remembered for the kindness, laughter, and love he shared so freely.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 12:00 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church located at 3517 Jeffco Blvd. Arnold, MO 63010. Interment with military honors will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to the American Cancer Society of your choice in Jim’s memory.

Jim’s legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the family he loved so deeply.

A celebration of Life for James Calamia will be determined and announced at later time this fall.

    I am so sorry for your loss
    Jim was a unique friend . Jim and Peggy always made me feel welcome at their house.?
    His loss is a loss for all of us
    Our golf trips to Fort Myers Myrtle Beach and even ALABAMA were always memorable. We all laughed when I found Peggy shoes under my bed. I’ll leave you with that. fond memory .

    Very sorry for your loss. I have great memories of “bartending” with Jim on holidays. SOTB shots were shared by many. We always laughed and enjoyed the time we spent together.
