Mary Tharp (nee Grimshaw), age 90, of St. Louis County, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2025, after courageously facing dementia in the last years of her life. She was born on November 14, 1935, in St. Louis County.

Mary shared 66 wonderful years of marriage with her late husband, Kenneth. Together, they built a loving family that was the center of her world. She is survived by her children Roxann (Jim) Taylor, Robin (John) Porta, and Ken Tharp (Jacque Phillips). Mary was a cherished sister to her living brother, Harry Grimshaw, and is reunited in heaven with her husband Kenneth and siblings Ed Grimshaw, George Grimshaw, and Shirley Bumstead.

The greatest joy of Mary’s life was being “Grandma” to her six grandchildren: Nicole, Ashley, Kelly, Frank, Amanda, and Sarah. They were truly the light of her life. She treasured every moment spent with them, from family vacations to simple days filled with laughter and love. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she created countless memories that they will carry in their hearts forever.

Mary also leaves behind five beloved great-grandchildren, who brought her endless happiness, as well as many loving nieces and nephews. She will be remembered for her warmth, devotion to her family, and the love she poured into her roles as wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt. Her legacy of love and family togetherness lives on through all who knew and cherished her.
