David Mark Smith

David Mark Smith, 72 years old, of St. Peters, Missouri, passed from Alzheimer’s disease on Monday, September 1, 2025 surrounded by family at home.

David was born September 13, 1952 in Evansville, Indiana.

After graduating high school, David was drafted into the United States Army serving his time during the Vietnam war.

David married Anne M. Smith on May 23, 1999 expanding their families to include 6 children.

David retired from the United States Postal Service after 37 years, serving as a parcel sorting clerk .

David loved the great outdoors especially hunting and fishing. He spent many hours on lakes and rivers with friends and family.

Remaining to cherish David’s memory are his wife, Anne Smith; children, David Smith, Jr., Michael Smith, Anneliese Smith, Samuel Tripp, Christina Smith, and Daniel Tripp; 11 grandchildren; brother, Daniel Hulen (Kim); sisters, Cinda Kreig (Lowell), Jennifer Alleavitch, and Lynn Sheini; and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.

Preceding David in death are his parents, Robert and Sandra Hulen and his brothers, Steve Lawhead, Mark Lawhead, Steve Hulen and Keith Hulen.

A Celebration of Life will be held on November 16, 2025 from 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm at Water’s Edge Banquet Center at 200 Salt Lick Road, St. Peters, Missouri.

David will be interred at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery on Monday, November 17th at 1:00pm.
