Bernadette Hurd – April 12, 1932 – October 7, 2025. Bernadette May Hurd (Jody) passed away Tuesday, October 7th in St. Louis, Missouri. Jody was born in Butler Township, Pennsylvania to Stanley and Veronica Shegon. She later moved to Baltimore, Maryland and then   moved to Washington, D.C., where she worked for the F.B.I. Jody married Richard Hurd and settled in Rockville, Maryland as a home maker for sixty years. The last seven years she resided in St. Louis, Missouri with her son. Jody was preceded in death by her husband Richard Davis Hurd, Sr. and her two sisters Virginia and Cynthia. Jody is survived by her children Cynthia ( Charles) Dowrick, Richard Hurd, Jr., Kenneth (Leslie) Hurd, Susan Hurd. Grandchildren Ashley, Ryan, Austin, Claudia and Natalie. Great grandchildren Zoe, Brody and Aubrey. Jody was an avid reader and loved to cook and bowled for many years. Jody will be put to rest with her husband at Arlington National Cemetery
