Paul Richard Scheffer

January 25, 1936 – November 1, 2025

On November 1 st , Paul left this earth to be with his beloved wife, Lorraine. He was born to
parents Aloysius Scheffer and Sophie (Betty) (nee Mager) on January 25, 1936. He attended
D’Andre Catholic High School. He worked at the Globe Democrat where he met his wife
Lorraine by winning her over with his sense of humor. After working at the Globe Democrat,
he worked in sales for Litco Printing Company. Paul also served in the Army National Guard.
Paul married Lorraine (nee Kunz) on October 6, 1962 and together they welcomed four
beautiful children.

Paul was very strong in his faith and was an active member in the parish for many years. He
and his wife took many trips with the Golden Achievers club.

He was also a very generous man. He loved taking people out and treating them to a meal.
Paul enjoyed fishing, traveling, camping and playing golf. He and Lorraine enjoyed their nine
grandchildren and taking them on camping trips. Paul loved all types of music but Journey
was his favorite. He also enjoyed season tickets at the Muny for many years and Oklahoma
and South Pacific were his favorite musicals.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Aloysius and Sophie, his sister Mary Ryan and
his wife Lorraine Scheffer (nee Kunz). He is survived by his daughters: Linda Barnes, Susan
(Jeff) Erfling, Theresa (Paul) Villhard and son David (Tracy) Scheffer; his nine grandchildren:
Nicole (Jeremy) Boschert, Jared (Michelle) Erfling, Matthew Barnes, Brooke Villhard, Kathryn
(Ryan) Jensen, Hayden Scheffer, Corey Barnes, Michaela Erfling and Blake Villhard; and his
five great grandchildren: Noah Boschert, Jace Erfling, Autumn Erfling, Jack Boschert and
Colton Nelson (Boschert).

Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. at St. Matthias the Apostle Catholic Church at 796
Buckley Road, St. Louis, MO 63125 on Thursday, November 13 th . Visitation will take place at
9:00 a.m. in the church foyer. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, ending with a
luncheon at Pietro’s Restaurant located at 3801 Watson Road.
