Stephan Ralph Potter
Stephan Ralph Potter, 72, passed away on December 20, 2025, in St. Louis, Missouri after a long battle with COPD. Born on August 17, 1953, in the same city he called home throughout his life.
A proud veteran of the United States Air Force, Stephan served during the Vietnam War from 1972 through 1974. He returned to school later in life and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice—an accomplishment that brought him great pride.
He was deeply proud of his daughter Shannon Beck and her husband David, as well as his grandchildren Peyton Beck and Connor Beck. Stephan is survived by his sister, Peggy Widmar and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father Ralph Potter, mother Mabel Potter (née Nixon), brother Bill Carr, and sister Nadine Hall (nee Carr).
Stephan’s legacy is one of perseverance and a life lived fully despite challenges. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire strength in the face of adversity.
No funeral services will be held; interment at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Stephan would have wanted you to raise a glass at your favorite spot and celebrate his memory.

My condolences to Steve’s family and I am sorry for your loss.
Bill and I give our deepest sympathies, condolences and prayers 🙏🙏🙏🙏to Steve’s family.
