James William Grothe passed away peacefully on January 20, 2026 at the age of 72. He was born in St. Louis on July 28, 1953. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Elizabeth (née Landy), as well as his daughter Claire (Dylan), son Joseph (Megan), grandsons Oscar and Otto, and sister Sharon (Steven) Sackman. Beloved uncle, nephew, cousin, brother-in-law, great-uncle, and friend to many. Interment to be held privately, with a celebration of life to follow at a later date.
