William Howard Corrington
William Howard Corrington died Jan. 8, 2026. He was 87.
Born May 6, 1938, in University City, Bill was the son of Mortimer Franklin Corrington and Dorothy Shelton Corrington Brewer, along with siblings Dennis and Susie. He attended John Burroughs High School, playing football and setting track & field records, and graduated from Yale University.
An entrepreneur at heart, he was a Car Hop at University City’s Hamburger Heaven during high school. He started his ‘official’ career at IBM, then launched a series of financial technology ventures. Known for his love of being “in the action” he built a wide circle of friends. At VP St. Louis, he was the long-standing Captain of the beloved Pirate Ship float.
He married Susan S. Rench and had two children Tracy (Kellaher) and William S. “Billy” Corrington. He later married Rebecca Totty, and was a long-time companion to The Honorable Mary Ann Medler.
Bill was especially proud watching his grandsons play sports at his alma mater, JBS. Friends and family remember his humor, routines, and steady belief that he could handle anything.
Memorial contributions may be made to John Burroughs School or Pathways Hospice.
